Throughout the academic year the AU runs a number of campaigns with the aim of highlighting specific areas of our work, to promote charities, or to encourage engagement with sport.

National Inclusion Week

Semester 1, Week 3: 28th September 2020

At the end of September Saints Sport celebrates National Inclusion Week which aims to make everyday inclusion in employment a reality.

National Volunteering Week

Semester 2, Week 3: Monday 8 February 2021

In early February Saints Sport runs a campaign highlighting and celebrating all of the amazing volunteers who help make Student Sport possible at the University of St Andrews. We highlight individuals and clubs who are making a significant difference to sport at the University, and within the community.

Purple Friday

Semester 2, Week 5: 26th February 2021

The Athletic Union runs LGBT+ inclusion campaigns every year. In 2020 , Saints Sport ran a Purple Friday campaign. Purple Friday is an event arranged by LGBT Youth Scotland and aims to turn Scotland purple to increase awareness of the difficulties that LGBT+ individuals face every day, it takes place each year on the last Friday of February. The campaign was run in collaboration with the LGBT Youth Scotland Chartermark which Saints Sport in currently working towards.

International Women’s Day

Semester 2, Week 7: Monday 8 March 2021

International Women’s Day is celebrated on the 8th March every year. Saints Sport is a huge proponent of women in sport and runs a campaign each year to celebrate all the amazing achievements of women in sport at St Andrews. We encourage clubs to celebrate their female members and highlight the inclusive atmosphere at Saints Sport.

 

Wellbeing Week

Semester 2, Week 9: Monday 5 April 2021

Each year the Athletic Union runs Wellbeing Week in like with the Student’s Association. The campaign has included free sessions run by clubs or by Saints Sport to encourage physical wellbeing, as well as efforts to highlight the wellbeing services that Saints Sport, the Student’s Association, and the University all aim to provide.

The Athletic Union is always keen to run new inclusion campaigns. If you have a campaign you would like to run, or feel there is an area of inclusion that we’re not looking at please get in touch with the AU president (aupres@) or the Volunteering & Engagement Officer (auvolunteering@).
