The Sports Awards ceremony takes place in April each year and celebrates the amazing achievements of all the individuals involved in student sport at the University. The activities of clubs, student athletes and coaches are celebrated under the three pillars of Saints Sport: Excellence | Experience | Engagement.
The awards season runs the beginning of Week 8 in Semester 2 the previous academic year, until the end of Week 7 of Semester 2 in the current year. Individuals who have graduated in this time, are still eligible for awards if their achievements fall within that period.
Nominations can be made by a club affiliated to the Athletic Union, full/part-time director of a club, or a combination of both, submitted through an online form circulated by the Athletic Union President each year. The form is normally distributed at the beginning of March, with nominations usually open for two weeks. Award nominations are judged by the Saints Sport Awards Committee, which is comprised of staff and student members.
