In addition to the support and guidance clubs receive from Saints Sport, there are other support mechanisms out there for clubs to engage with and benefit from.
National Governing Bodies
Most clubs affiliated to the Athletic Union will have a National Governing Body (NGB) who govern and administer their sport on a national basis. NGB’s are there to provide sport specific support to clubs and a positive relationship with NGB’s is key to club development and providing the best possible student experience.
If clubs are unsure who their NGB is, or how to contact their NGB please contact Duncan Caithness (Assistant Director, Sports Development).
National Agency for Sport, sportscotland
An active Scotland where everyone benefits from sport
sportscotland has a designated section for sports clubs on their website which has lots of helpful information and resources to enable all clubs to play their part in developing and supporting a world class sporting system within Scotland.
A number of organisations, such as national governing bodies and sportscotland, offer external funding and grants which clubs can also benefit from. Governing body support varies from sport to sport, but below are listed some come sources of external funding for clubs. For more information or for help with your application, please contact Duncan Caithness, Assistant Director (Sports Development).
